Overview
DIS Inspect is the perfect tool to compliment your existing
Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and Optical Measuring Machine, as
well as Manual Measurement Tools (i.e., Calipers, Micrometers, Height
Gages, etc.). Regardless of the manufacturer of your measuring machine
or Geometry Software, DIS Inspect has the ability to interface with ALL
Geometry Software Programs that provide measurement results. Although
most Geometry Software programs provide various levels of Reporting
Capabilities, few offer the capability to consolidate measurement data
regardless of the equipment used and report in a multi-piece format
conducive to the review process.
Advantages
DIS Inspect was designed to compliment existing Geometry
Software and Quality Lab Personnel to accelerate the activities
associated with Dimensional Layout and limited SPC Reporting in the
Quality Control Department. Equally important was to design reports that
provide an easily understandable format conducive to the review
process for the Engineer and Customer. Whether the measuring
equipment used is manual or DCC, DIS Inspect provides the mechanism to
capture data at the source, consolidate results from multiple
workstations if required, and report those results in a fraction of the
time that it takes using spreadsheets or geometry reporting software you
may be using today. The payback for our customers is allowing them to
focus on generating measurement results from their measuring equipment
instead of going through the time consuming activity of generating
reports.
- An Upload Module, which provides the capability to import
result files generated by DCC CMM and Optical Systems into DIS
Inspect in less than ONE MINUTE! OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE/EFFICIENCY of
equipment, software, and labor time is realized while enjoying the
power of DIS Inspect and the benefits of the reports generated.
- Reports generated by DIS Inspect may be output to a
Printer, to a Print-Preview Session, or to a “Portable Document
Format” (aka. PDF). PDF files are the industry standard for
providing a “print image” reports. Using the PDF option provides
the opportunity to:
- Copy the PDF to a floppy and send print image reports
to your customer
- Attach the PDF File(s) to an E-Mail and send them to
your customer thus eliminating delivery time
- Store the PDF File(s) on the server for readily
available access virtually eliminating hard copy printouts
- DIS Inspect uses the Microsoft Access Database Engine for
enhanced stability and security.
- DIS Inspect uses Zip Compression to reduce file sizes when
not in use.
- Taking full advantage of the 255 character windows long
filename support, Job filenames are automatically generated based on
part characteristics.
- Supports up to 2,000 Pieces and 10,000 Features.
- Industries Supported: Automotive, Plastics, Stamping,
Casting, Tooling, etc.
- A Worksheet Module that is designed specifically for layout
tasks performed in the Metrology Lab
- Offers powerful work tools that will significantly reduce
labor hours in performing layout activities
- A Report Writer Module that provides clear, concise, and
consolidated reporting for multi-piece layouts (to include the
Automotive - Production Part Approval - Dimensional Results (i.e.
PPAP), Out-of-Tolerance Summary Report, Position Summary Report,
Percent of Tolerance Band Summary, and many more.
- A File Maintenance Module which provides basic maintenance
functions such as:
- add, delete, rename directories
- delete, move Job Files
- extract specific Features or Pieces from a master file
- combine files by Feature or Piece for consolidated
reporting
- convert English to Metric and visa-versa.
- User Friendly "Click Help" System which allows
the User to quickly find helpful information on any program
capability with just the click of a button. It is designed to answer
questions without having to search a Help Session like most Windows
programs require.
Program History
Dimensional Inspection Software, Inc. was established in 1991. In
that year a DOS program named "Online 1st Article Plus" was
introduced and was the first program geared towards Metrology Layout
needs. In 1998 the Windows based "DIS Inspect" was introduced
and replaced the DOS version. Over the past several years, the program
has continued to evolve based on End User needs to service the Quality
Lab.
