Since the purchase of DIS Inspect (10/2001), we have eliminated manual
entry of information and have also eliminated errors in calculations often
required. In addition, we have cut our layout time by almost 50%. Before DIS
Inspect, we required several review steps to help insure that reports were
accurate which required a considerable amount of time. We now have far less
errors and spend less time reviewing our layouts. Our customers have also
informed us of fewer oversights since the implementation of the program and have
commented on the ease of reviewing reports due to the various report formats
available. The purchase of DIS Inspect was a good investment and a tremendous
timesaver. It's always a pleasure to hear from you and the good people of DIS.
Recently, I was away from the office on medical leave. I'm doing fine now and
glad to be back to work. Not many people can testify to that but when you have
the right tools for the trade it really makes coming to work a pleasure. We began using DIS INSPECT in 1994 when it was the DOS-based version
called "On-Line First Article". Before using the program, our reports
were all handwritten. As a part was being measured, the inspection technician
would write down all the pertinent information on paper. The report was then
entered into a spreadsheet manually. The report was then proof-read by both the
inspection technician and the office assistant who had input the data. This is a letter of thanks for providing not only continued support but
also for providing a complete, multifaceted product that not only has saved
valuable time within our Westland facility but also corporate wide. Since Radar Industries has been using Dimensional Inspection Software long
before it's conversion to a windows based software, we feel that our knowledge
of life without DIS is extensive! "Back-In-The-Days" before DIS
Inspect had converted from DOS based to a Windows based we were using DIS
because it was in our opinion, the best report writing software on the market.
It provided a method of down loading data, directly from our Mitutoyo machines
in a fast and efficient manner. When we purchased new software for one of our
Machines to allow for the use of math models (IGES) from our customers, we were
forced to use a different method of report writing, which was far more time
consuming and not user friendly at all. After a brief time without DIS, we were
pleased to see that your company had stepped up and began supporting Windows
based software. We had gone from being fast and efficient to slow and
in-efficient without DIS! Donnelly Corporation has been using DIS software since 1994 and has found
it a very powerful tool. “DIS Inspect” provides report that all of
Donnelly’s engineers have no trouble understanding. The possibilities of
report types cover all that are needed by Donnelly Corporation. Samples are AIAG,
Capability, Location, Position, X-Bar R-Bar, Histograms, as well as different
styles of these reports. When using a color printer, the reports are easily read
and are able to tell what is out of specification at a glance. One of the best
features provided has been the ability to upload data from the Coordinate
Measuring Machines right into the DIS software. |
