Solid Edge

• How do I sign up to SE newsgroups?
  • Via HTML
    • goto http://support.ugs.com/
      1. or goto www.solid-edge.com
      2. then select Contact us > Technical support
    • select Newsgroups
    • Under “Accessing the news server via HTML:” select http://bbsnotes.ugs.com
    • Enter your WebKey
    • You may now access any of the following groups which exist for Solid Edge
  • Via Outlook Express
    • In Outlook go to Tools > Accounts… 
    • Select News tab
    • Add > News
    • follow the Wizard steps using the following info:
      • News (NNTP) server = bbsnotes.ugs.com
      • Account name: [your web key]
      • Password: [your web key password]
    • When prompted:  “download newsgroups from the news account you added” – YES
    • select the groups of interest (typically all that begin with solid_edge)
    • The setup is now complete.  You should have a branch under Outlook Express called bbsnotes.ugs.com
• Where do I get support when I have a problem?
  • If you need help pertaining to installation, licensing, or other software related problems contact EDS Technical Support (800-955-0000).  They work closely with the software developers, and can help with extremely technical software / hardware related issues.  You will need to have a current software maintenance contract, and have your Sold To # available.
  • If you need assistance in Solid Edge usage, workflow, advanced functionalities, or any other problem contact your nearest Alamar Systems support representative.
