Day 1
Module 1: A Fundamental Review
The purpose of this review is to reinforce the basic principles required to successfully model parts within Solid Edge and confirm the necessary knowledge to proceed with the Advanced Class.
Module 2: Feature and Profiles
The objective of this module is to provide the user with the mindset to analytically visualize and breakdown the geometric shapes within a part, know what tools are available, and what order those tools should be used to build the part as a solid model. Included will be the recommended use of profiles, sketches, assembly layouts, tips on how to construct them in an efficient manner, and effective and efficient use of Relationship Assistant.
Day 2
Module 3: Detailed Tool Usage
This module will cover the following Solid Edge tools in detail: Constructing Sweeps and Lofts, Using Construction Geometry, Replace Surface Functionality, Divide Part Functionality, Boolean Feature, and Part Copy command.
Module 4: More Detailed Tool Usage
This module wil cover the following Solid Edge Tools in detail: Using Feature Libraries, 'Smart' and 'Fast' Feature Patterns, Variable Tables, Family of Parts, Rounding, and Simplified Parts.
Module 5: Advanced Assembly Tools
This module will familiarize students with some new and advanced capabilities such as: use of assembly layouts, creating families of assemblies, inter-part copies, multi-part cutouts, and peer variables. We will also explore transferring parts between assembly levels.
Day 3
Module 6: Rendering Models
Students will learn to customize rendered views and create fly-around videos in this module. Users can adjust lighting, textures, and backgrounds for photo-realistic rendering. These tools are extremely valuable when using your Solid Edge Models for marketing and presentations.
Module 7: Additional Environments
This module will explain how the Weldment and Simply Motion environments interact with Solid Edge. This module can also be customized for companies with specialized requirements and select add-on modules.
Module 8: Templates and Data Management
In this module, students will learn the importance of applying company CAD standards and the importance of preparing template files. We will take an in depth look at what can be customized in template files to save time when designing and drafting. Revision Manager will also be reviewed.
